hey everyone! Sorry my comments were turned off for some reason but they are back on now!
That’s alright
Hey Cody great job on this I think you are very talented and I cried a bit in this movie too deaths are always so hard but anyway keep up the amazing work.
I was sad when I saw the end to I feel you
I knew they had to be making a point by showing the river water rising, but I still wasn't expecting this 😢
Yeah! Her death was a tragedy. Yes, it could’ve been avoided if she would’ve listened to Jess about the caution of using the rope and the parents being aware of it, but it’s still realistic cause using the rope is fun, but can always be hazardous especially if it was there the first time you see it.
After finding out what happened to her, I have to say that good acting from Josh Hutchinson. Annasophia Robb was fantastic in this to. It no wonder why they kept giving them more roles after this. Back then when we had some good child actors.
Agreed. Both of them were lucky to get more roles after this emotional movie. ❤
She dies because she's based off of the authors childhood friend, who ALSO passed away
Heard it was from a lightning strike too, poor child :(
it was Katherine Paterson's son's childhood friend. David Paterson later produced and co-wrote the screenplay for this film.
This was my cousins favourite movie when we were younger, I have such a vivid memory of her asking my mum if she could watch the one where the girl dies every time we had a sleepover. To this day it still breaks my heart every time, the performances from the young actors are brilliant
I had already seen this movie and knew what was gonna happen, but Leslie’s death still got me just as badly as the first time I saw it. That’s how you know this movie is good.
I audibly said “YES” when I saw the movie you were reacting to, i love this movie so much
While Charlie Bucket was protecting a book of secrets to a magical land and while Mike Teevee took a peek into the future, this is what Violet Beauregard was doing
No wonder Peeta is so messed up in "Hunger Games", his best friend died.
I have a theory that Violet Beauregarde changed her name to Leslie Burke, as well as her mother who turned her name from Scarlett to Judy. Violet changed her name and identity to not be humiliated as the child who turned into a blueberry at Willy Wonka's factory.
What about Augustus and Veruca?
@@thegirlonsaturdays8418 Augustus became Frank Stein Jr. in the TV show Berndivent and Veruca went to da bungalow in Dick and Dom in da Bungalow. I got this information from Wikipedia and IMDb
@@thegirlonsaturdays8418 Augustus went on to be in a few movies and Veruca became a doctor, apparently.
Love this movie. But I am sad when Leslie died and drowned. At the end, Jesse invited his sister to come and play
Fun fact: This whole movie was filmed in New Zealand. The sequence in the museum was actually done in the Auckland War Memorial Museum. It's not set in New Zealand, of course, but like Lord of the Rings, the environment made for a convincing fantasy land. Also, just wanna say, I cried buckets when I saw this for the first time. My friend Zoe just kept passing me tissues (I don't cry loudly, but you can hear it in the way I breathe my sobs).
One more point. The book ends with May Belle being made the Queen of Terabithia. I don't know why they changed it to her being a princess. The last line of the book is Jess saying that the Terabithians are hoping that the beautiful girl arriving today is the queen they've been waiting for.
I remember the trailers for this that made the whole thing look like a fun adventure movie, like Harry Potter or Narnia.
Oh boy, did that set the wrong expectations for me before watching it as a kid.
Haha yeah the trailer was so misleading, thankfully I read the book before seeing the movie so I understood that it was all Jess and Leslie’s imagination.
Funny to think that Jesse grew up to work a dead end job in a defunct pizzeria with possessed animatronics.
Yeah 😂. Still haven’t seen that film yet. Plan to watch it soon especially for the sequel that is in development.
It's definitely crazy. Don't forget hunger games too
And his boss was a psychotic killer pretending to be a dog loving food obsessed hippy
I remember going to see this in cinemas when I was 8. I'll never forget hearing those words "Your Friend Leslie is Dead" for the first time. All these years later and it still gets me, especially when Jess breaks down in his dad's arms.
Leslie dying was so well written both in the movie and book. First character death that made me cry.
When Jess got that call from his teacher I was like "Oh no, here come the tears and memories of my first time reading this book."😢
I watched this when i was a kid. I realized later how dark this movie actually is.
Found a dvd of this in my basement and my mom told me that “I’d love it”. I was more than a bit devastated after I emerged from the basement and finished it lol
“I made it up” thats just lying with extra steps😅😂
I'm glad that teacher just talked to him....seeing how much pain he was in .....she probably would have punched that kid too if it wasn't against the law.
Before Jess met Leslie, all he did was fantasize. He knew they were just drawings, and was okay with that.
Then he met Leslie, and for a moment, she managed to convince him that fantasy was reality.
me and my mom watched this when I was way younger. I remember both of us were so emotional
A good movie about friends having great imaginations
Fun fact about the death scene: The death scene was bades off the book creator Katherine Patterson's childhood friend that passed away. Also, Disney originally did NOT want the character dead, only to be alive at the end of the movie like how they handled death in the animated movies. However, Patterson fought for gaving the death scene and eventually Disney decided to have Leslie dead in the final product. Imagine what would've happened if Disney got their way instead.
As much as I wanted Leslie staying alive, this ending was the right move
it was Katherine Paterson's son's childhood friend. David Paterson later produced and co-wrote the screenplay for this film.
I remember owning this movie when i was young, i had read the book in school as a class book read, I didn't understand the whole point of this until i did research in my last year. The author's son's best friend died from a lightning strike at 8 years old and the name of Terabithia is almost simliar to a Narnian island "Terebinthia" 😂 Glad that you caught the Narnia vibes in this. I never once cried to this movie as a kid or a teen, but now knowing what i know and rewatching this reaction brought me to tears. They'll probably never make another children's book/film like this again
This movie holds such a huge place in my heart.
First time I watched it was with my daughter.
She's an adult now, but we still revisit it and cry together 🥲
I remember that after seeing the movie on cinema, I was on the librairy of the school my mother worked in this time (she was the headmistress) and found a book who was the one who inspired the movie.
I have to admit that (except Leslie's death) the thing I hate the most is how everyone, including his family, is nice with Jess after Leslie died
You should have empathy for people even if they have done bad or mean things. Often times, that empathy is what will turn them around and stop them from doing those mean things.
I read the book as a kid and saw the movie for 5th grade and pretty much the entire class gasped and began crying at the big turning point in the story.
This movie broke me as a child. My mom and I would watch it all the time together and obviously we cried. I cry every time watching this. So crazy you decided to react to this movie Cody, cuz me and my friends kid was watching it the other day. ☺️☺️ I’m not prepared to watch your reaction lol but I wanna watch it sooo😂
And I’d like to say that I’m not sure if the new editor edited this reaction but it’s very good and does remind me of my editing. I’d cut it at the perfect moments just like this! ☺️💙
Leslie death is the most heartbreaking part of this movie. And i had this movie on dvd.
Omg I remember this movie growing up as a kid I loved it so much I watch it over and over again 😢
Welcome to the club Cody, we cry at 6 p.m. every Sunday🤝🏻
I haven't seen this in forever. i can see how he got the roll doing Journy to the Center of the earth. pretty fun movie if you haven't seen those.
oh I was surprised that you saw it, it's about time.. I loved it when I saw it and it also broke my heart when Leslie died, I was: no no no!
This is one of those movies where no matter how many times you watch it, it makes you tear up when Jesse finds out what happened to Leslie and then again when he's in the forest and his dad finds him.
If you've never seen it before you should watch/react to the movie Simon Birch (1998). I feel like it's another hidden gem of a movie. Not many people I know have ever heard of it. Also by the looks of it, it doesn't look like anyone on RUclips has ever done a reaction to it.
i don't know if you realise it later but around 4:00, its "essay" like a school essay not...what you were thinking
3:51 Not SA, Cody. ESSAY.
As in no downloading someone elses paper off the internet.
I was so confused… like how does Cody not know that an essay is…?
@fightingfaerie it’s not that serious lol
When I was a fifth grader I actually read a book about this movie before watching the movie for the first time
One of the classes in my school was reading this, but that was Year Eight (twelve-year-olds). I eventually got it out of the library after this movie came out and read the whole book on holiday.
It’s been years I’ve ever witnessed this live action Disney film! Something that’s not a live action remake of any of their animated films!
Bridge to Terabithia gave me Your Lie in April vibes given the bittersweet ending. You come to meet someone in your life, the friendship evolves into love, only for it to not get its happy ending. Tragic story.
I’m 40. I’ve seen this movie outside of reactions. In all those years I don’t think I’ve seen a sadder kids movie. Plenty of movies people might die. But they nail this on making it sad. I guess it’s a good lesson for kids about bad things can happen. But still a lot for a kids movie.
Some Narnia fun facts about Terabithia (because I couldn't resist):
1: Terebithia is almost similar in name with Terebinthia, one of Narnia's foreign islands. Katherine Paterson said she thought she made it up until she reread the books. But Lewis probably got it from the terebinth tree from the Bible, "so both of us pinched from somewhere else, probably unconsciously." she said.
2: The novel makes a direct reference to The Chronicles of Narnia as a series of books Leslie lends to Jess, in order to help him learn to behave like a king.
3: Both Narnia and Terebithia were made by Walden Media and Walt Disney, sometimes Terebithia was advertised as "from the makers of the Chronicles of Narnia", same with Fox and Walden's The Water Horse.
Growing up there was this one tree at my grandpas house, whenever we walked under it the squirrel that lived there would pelt us with pine cones it was kinda hilarious.
Bridge To Terabithia was the first book to make cry as a kid. My fourth grade teacher actually scolded me for reading ahead of the class this book. Dear Mr. Henshaw was the other book I loved, but Bridge To Terabithia was the first of many books I love.
One of my favorite parts of this movie is the soundtrack. It perfectly captures the overall theme of the movie.
I didn’t need to cry today but here we are
This movie... I had this movie growing up. I don't remember if I ever liked it or not, I always cried at the second half of the movie. And the part where Jess was chased by a monster and it turned out to be his dad, that part scared me so much.
It's been a while since the last time I have watched Bridge to Terabithia. I want to say like I've seen it four times. I'm gonna have to rewatch that again. By the way, there are some other underrated gems from the 2000s as well: The Crocodile Hunter: Collision Course (2002), the live action adaptation of Peter Pan (2003), Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events (2004), Zathura (2005), Valiant (2005), The Ant Bully (2006), The Wild (2006), The Golden Compass (2007), Beowulf (2007), The Water Horse (2007), Stardust (2007), Spiderwick Chronicles (2008), and 10,000 B.C. (2008).
Like one creative bridge that skipped into the city of magic guardians 😢 so sweet for the relationships
3:53 bro is so corrupted that he confused essay with SA 💀
This movie was extremely beautiful and amazing Cody your reaction to this movie is easily the best reaction you've done in the channel.
If you liked Bridge to Terabithia, I think you would also enjoy Spider Wick. It is another fantasy movie with magical creatures and a good story and has some horror elements in it as well. Just a recommendation though. I too cried when I first watched this movie.
Oh I can't wait to see this, definitely a favorite of mine that I always cry too
My my. I remember watching this movie with my big brother when we were small. I never understood anything.
We watched in danish too.
I really love this movie. I saw it at the I read the book for school and the ending really got me
Hello :) nice to be back on this channel after a while :) was this my recommendation from earlier ? .. because i guess it was , as i probably said i simply love Anna-Sophia Robb and all her movies to be honest .. sadly very few reaction channels reacted to her movies . Anyway ..after this i'm gonna jump in to Young Sheldon season 7 with u , I had to wait to watch it myself first so ..yeah :) .
I'm so happy you liked this movie🥹
The teacher said essay, not SA lol 😂
I love this movie as a kid I haven’t seen this movie in years
32:47 serves the bully right!
Seen this movie a few times and always find the ending emotional every time 💔. The young performances were great, and always appreciated how adorable Bailey Madison was in this film before she grew up to become even more beautiful. Cody’s crying hit me hard 💔 in an emotional, but good way.
One of my favorite movies as a child, the way they could do anything, and I believe this is one of the first movies where I understood death as a child
There's a reason I've only watched this movie once, no matter how good it was. I was sure it would cause plenty of tears
Its crazy how these reactions always get me to cry
This is one of the few movies that will ALWAYS make me cry... I didn't think it would happen when watching a reaction... I was wrong.
When my family lived in Europe my sister and I brought this movie to watch at hotels/in the car
This is such a beautiful and sad film, I also love its fantasy designs ❤😊
I love that movie i use to watch that years ago when i was kid it very good movie i cry at end
I can relate to this movie lost a best friend in high school
Josh hutcherson’s acting was pretty decent good in this movie
bridge to therapy
Yes
I had to read the book in 5th grade. It was a gutpunch.
This is a really amazing film and such a sad one too. I’m sorry if it’s too much to ask, but could you please reactive Oliver and company. If not, that’s all right, but I would really appreciate😢😢😢😢😢😢😢😢❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I love your videos by the way you’re one of my favorite actors.
The teacher was sayin "essay" not "SA" lol
Yikes this bringing bad ptsd flashbacks of when ny dog pass away ny arms and it makes cry ❤️🧡💛💚🩵💙💜
Thanks to guys like Bret Hart guys can wear pink....as long as it's combined pink with black.
Yeah this movie was so sad, it broke me too
I heard of this movie, this was like on Foxtel ALOT back in the day on the Foxtel Channel I have no idea why it is was on there so much, I hadn’t seen it but there were like clips here and there cause it was repeated on Foxtel a bit so yeah.
As for the movie itself I ahhh hadn’t seen, I didn’t quite get the story of it ethier it didn’t make sense to me from a story point stand view.
You should react to another josh hutcherson movie called “Zathura: A Space Adventure”. It’s a space board game where brothers went through space all the way to finish the game and get home.
31:17 same reaction I had the first time I watched this.
This movie is creative and mix motion and new .
I love this movie so much
I think the teacher meant
Essay not SA lol
You want another movie with an ending that'll mess you up? Night of the Living Dead from 1968
This movie is based on a book.
Cody thank you for this reaction. When I watched this film as a kid it was sad to see Jess lose Leslie. As an adult I not only can sympathize with him, but I actually know the feeling all too well. While I understand it’s a bittersweet film for children, I can see it as film that can help anyone when they go through the grief of losing a friend or a loved one. I’d been going through a lot of things in my life, and I enjoy watching your reactions so much. So thank you for this reaction. If you like Anne Sophia Robb’s portrayal as Leslie, I highly recommend one of her amazing and underrated films, Soul Surfer which stars Helen Hunt and Dennis Quaid and is based on the true story of Bethany Hamilton. For Josh Hutcherson, I highly recommend Zathura, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey to the Mysterious Island, RV, Firehouse Dog, and Kicking and Screaming.

Is that the boy from Jurassic Park 3?

A movie suggestion, Ultraman rising.
Can you make? The Beatles movie hard days night. Help and mystery tour. And yellow Submarine.
was a good but sad movie. and i liked your reaction to it. Maybe you can react to the movie a fairy's game I think you will like that movie to
Movie based off book
i mean if u dont understand the bible much u will think god is not good if you hear it different but if u understand you will think he is the best person ever he is amazing im not going to shove anything down your throat but i got a bit sad wen u said he is unfear so i just wanted to clear that up k thank u and i like your reactions/vids
Capitalize He and Him when you're talking about God. And I'm not even a Christian. I don't approve of God punishing all of Egypt for the Pharaoh's actions in refusing to let His people go, especially since it suggests God actually made him keep taking it back - killing babies just because they were boys who were the eldest sons. And what about telling Abraham he had to kill the son he longed so much for just to prove his loyalty and only taking it back when he'd probably scared Isaac half to death by trying to slit his throat?
I would love if you watched "The Impossible" with Tom Holland? Its based on a true story
I think God is more fair then any god of any other religion.
Cody u need to watch modern family you would love it
Please do My Neighbor Totoro next?
no sorry

25:21
It is fair. It does, in fact, say in the Bible that if you deny God, He will deny you. If you reject Jesus as your Savior, He will reject you.
But just because you're unfaithful, that doesn't mean God is unfaithful. God is a Just God and will punish accordingly.
Romans 3:3-4 NLT
[3] True, some of them were unfaithful; but just because they were unfaithful, does that mean God will be unfaithful? [4] Of course not! Even if everyone else is a liar, God is true. As the Scriptures say about him, “You will be proved right in what you say, and you will win your case in court.”
He gave His One and Only Son as a sacrifice for us. The only way to Heaven is through Jesus. You must have faith. You must accept God. He is the reason you have life. He is our Father, and He will discipline us like any parent disciplines their child.
Psalms 94:14-15 NLT
[14] The Lord will not reject his people; he will not abandon his special possession. [15] Judgment will again be founded on justice, and those with virtuous hearts will pursue it.
Matthew 25:41-46 NLT
[41] “Then the King will turn to those on the left and say, ‘Away with you, you cursed ones, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his demons. [42] For I was hungry, and you didn’t feed me. I was thirsty, and you didn’t give me a drink. [43] I was a stranger, and you didn’t invite me into your home. I was naked, and you didn’t give me clothing. I was sick and in prison, and you didn’t visit me.’ [44] “Then they will reply, ‘Lord, when did we ever see you hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison, and not help you?’ [45] “And he will answer, ‘I tell you the truth, when you refused to help the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were refusing to help me.’ [46] “And they will go away into eternal punishment, but the righteous will go into eternal life.”
Love this movie so much I never get tired of watching it almost as magical as the first time I watched it
